Alberta’s unique position to grow a whole new automotive industry is considered in the recent DAILY PLANET episode featuring the rich talent pool at Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF).  

The R&D partnership between Calgary’s Motive Industries and researchers at AITF was featured on the January 24 edition of the Daily Planet. The story describes how AITF is literally helping grow an exciting new market opportunity utilizing the whole R&D pipeline. A major innovation is the use of high-yield fibre crops, like hemp and flax, to create lighter weight car parts, that are also stronger and more resilient.

Consumers are asking for greater fuel efficiency and smaller environmental footprints.
